JOB OBJECTIVE
Responsible for mechanical engineering matters relating to installation and maintenance for projects
identified by GPLCL
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
- Formulate comprehensive technical plans required for project development
- Estimate accurately the capital costs necessary for project development
- Provide project-related technical information to the Contracts team for the development of Expressions
of Interest (EOIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), bid evaluations, DPRs/ feasibility reports, etc.
- Review and verify designs and drawings of respective engineering components submitted by
bidders, private partners, and potential EPC contractors
- Assist the Procurement Committee and Senior Management of GPLCL in evaluating tenders from a
technical standpoint
- Review and coordinate with private partners and EPC contractors on project progress during the
implementation stage, focusing on both time and cost aspects.
- Provide updates to higher authorities and senior management on the progress of implementation,
including detailed explanations for any delays.
- Coordinate and manage with any project management company appointed by GPLCL for project
implementation from a technical and engineering perspective
- Ensure rigorous application of quality control measures across respective engineering areas
from project conceptualization through to implementation
- Ensure that Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspects are comprehensively
covered and implemented at all project stages
- Develop and update various progress reports as directed by higher authorities
- Provide inputs for budget preparation as per the directions of higher authorities
- Scrutinize and submit bills and vouchers related to project expenditures
- Manage all staff-related administrative responsibilities within your jurisdiction, including
attendance, leave, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions
- Estimate future manpower requirements for implementation of the project

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- BE/ B.Tech. in Mechanical engineering or its equivalent
- M.E / M.Tech. in Mechanical engineering will be preferred
- At least 4 years of Experience in respective engineering field
especially in logistics infrastructure projects such as ports,
railways, logistics parks, Inland container depots (ICDs) and
container freight stations (CFSs), etc.
